Members of our lab are involved with numerous outreach activities at Yale and in New Haven. Below are some of the events and programs with which we have been or are currently involved. Check out the links for more information. 

Científico Latino Graduate School Mentorship Initiative

  • Mentor underrepresented students applying to STEM doctoral programs

New Haven Science Fair

Judge, Mentor

  • Evaluate science fair projects by New Haven public school students 

  • Mentor New Haven public school students as they design, execute, and interpret science fair experiments

STEM Mentors at Yale

  • Organize events targeted towards high school students, particularly those traditionally underrepresented in science, to promote entry into STEM fields.

Women in Science at Yale (WISAY)

  • Mentor undergraduates at Yale

Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine - Podcast Team

  • Write, record, and edit podcast episodes corresponding to each issue of the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine, a PubMed-indexed, open access journal edited by Yale medical, graduate, and professional students. 

Yale Science Diplomats

Including Science in the News and Science at Brewery

  • Present talks and webinars on accessible and interesting scientific topics to local public libraries, schools, and retirement communities.

Yale Pathways to Science

Including Brain Education Day, and Genetics Day
